The Finnish String Academy

The Finnish String Academy offers high level extracurricular training to talented young string players in Finland. The String Academy is composed of the Violin Academy, Cello Academy and Viola Academy.

The main purpose of the String Academy is to promote string instrument education in Finland and to support the development of talented Finnish musicians toward professional excellence. Since its inception in 2009, the String Academy has successfully trained competition winners and outstanding musicians who have established themselves in Finland’s classical music scene as soloists, chamber musicians, and orchestra members.

The Finnish String Academy is a member of the Finnish Instrument Academies, consisting of the String Academy, the Youth Piano Academy and the Brass Academy.

The Academy is supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation and the Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation.
