Students at the String Academies study regularly under the guidance of the academy's teachers, top experts in their respective instruments. The Violin Academy is taught by the founders of the String Academy: Janne Malmivaara, violin lecturer at the Helsinki Conservatory, and Elina Vähälä, professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. The Cello Academy's teachers are Tuomas Lehto, first solo cellist of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Tuomas Ylinen, first solo cellist of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. The Viola Academy is taught by Anna Kreetta Gribajcevic, professor of viola at the Hamburg University of Music, and Lilli Maijala, professor of viola at the Zurich University of the Arts.
In addition to the regular faculty, visiting top-pedagogues enhance the students' development during teaching periods. These guest instructors provide students with valuable opportunities to gain diverse influences in their playing. International visiting pedagogues have included violinists Julia Fisher, Ilya Grubert and Inmo Yang, cellists Natalie Clein and Thorleif Thedeen as well as violist Gareth Lubbe.
