Ruth Steudle

Ruth Steudle (born 2007) began playing the cello at the age of 6 at the Turku Conservatory, where she studied with Laura Olli. Since the fall of 2022, Ruth has been studying at the Sibelius Academy’s Youth Department under Joona Pulkkinen (2022–2024), and from 2024, under Tuomas Lehto, as well as at the Cello Academy under Tuomas Ylinen and Tuomas Lehto. Guest teachers at the Cello Academy have included Torleif Thedéen, Natalie Clein, Sennu Laine, and Arto Noras.

Ruth has participated in several masterclasses, where she has received instruction from Marko Ylönen and Tuomas Ylönen, as well as in chamber music from Henri Sigfridsson and Ralf Gothoni. Ruth has performed extensively both as a soloist and in various chamber music ensembles and orchestras. Her competition experience includes the Salo and Porvoo Cello Competitions and the Ilmari Hannikainen Piano Chamber Music Competition, where Ruth, together with the clarinet trio JuRuEli, received an honorable mention. Ruth’s studies have been supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
