Ingrid Odé (born 2003) is a violist from Helsinki. She studies at the Sibelius Academy under Annariina Jokela and Atte Kilpeläinen. Previously, she studied with Nils Mönkemeyer. From 2018 to 2022, Ingrid studied viola and violin at the Sibelius Academy Youth Program, with Lilli Maijala and Päivyt Meller as her teachers. In the spring of 2024, Ingrid will begin exchange studies at the Zurich University of the Arts.
Ingrid has participated in numerous competitions, the most notable being the Oulu National Viola Competition in 2022, where she won third prize. She has gained masterclass experience with several teachers, including Lawrence Power, Yuval Gotlibovich, and Silvia Simionescu.
Ingrid has actively performed chamber and orchestral music both in Finland and abroad. She participated in the Concertgebouw Orchestra's RCO Youth Orchestra in 2019 and in the Nordic Orchestra Orkester Norden in 2022 and 2023. She has also served as the principal violist of the Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra and performed with the orchestra at the Proms Festival in London and at City Halls in Glasgow. Ingrid also has orchestral experience with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Tampere Philharmonic, and the Lahti Symphony Orchestra.
As a chamber musician, Ingrid has performed at the Musical Chairs Festival in Montreal, Kuhmo Chamber Music, the Kauniainen Chamber Music Festival, Nurmes Summer Music, and the Festari! event in Riga and Tartu. As a member of various chamber ensembles, she has participated in masterclasses with Levon Chilingirian, Daniel de Borah, Ralf Gothón, and Daniel Rowland.
Ingrid has received a scholarship from the Oleg Kagan Memorial Fund, and her studies have been supported by the Pro Musica Foundation and the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
