Pirta Pöllänen

Pirta Pöllänen (born 2004, Finland) began her violin studies at the age of 4 at the Kotka Region Music Institute under the guidance of Airi Koivukoski, later continuing with Sirkku Mantere and Merle Kaadu. In 2014, she continued her studies with Pertti Sutinen at the Lahti Conservatory, where she also completed a basic degree in music between 2019 and 2023 under the mentorship of Maaria Leino.

In the fall of 2023, Pöllänen began her studies at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts in classical music instrumental studies in Petri Aarnio's class.

Pöllänen has been a member of the Porvoo String Academy since the fall of 2022. She has also complemented her violin studies with several masterclasses, including with Mi-Kyung Lee, Päivyt Meller, and Tero Latvala. In the spring of 2022, she reached the finals of the Juhani Heinonen Violin Competition in Jyväskylä. Pöllänen is an active chamber and orchestral musician, performing as a member of the Piano Trio Elon and the Pikantti String Quartet. As a soloist, she has performed with orchestras such as Sinfonia Lahti, Jyväskylä Sinfonia, and Kymi Sinfonietta.
