Veikko Aarnio has been playing the cello since he was four years old at the Central Helsinki Music Institute, first under the guidance of Helli Seppä and, since 2018, Markus Hallikainen. The 13-year-old Veikko plays on a French 3/4 cello. He has previously participated in international video competitions such as the Rudolf Barshai and Mark Rothko competitions. Veikko Aarnio has also received instruction from Arto Noraksel, Joona Pulkkinen, and Raphael Wallfish. He performed at the Martin Wegelius Chamber Orchestra's "Young Soloists" concert in November 2023 and took part in the 2024 KesäVirratSoi music festival's "Young Stars" concert in July. He participated in the 2024 Porvoo Cello Competition in the 9–12-year-old category and received the Taidetehdas Foundation's special prize.
