Frank Sundqvist

Frank Sundqvist (born 2011) began playing the cello at the age of 5 at the Espoo Music Institute, where he studied under Anne Silvennoinen and Petja Kainulainen. Starting in the autumn of 2024, Frank's teacher has been Tuomas Lehto. Frank studies at the Cello Academy under the guidance of Tuomas Ylinen and Tuomas Lehto.

Taika Puhakka

Taika Puhakka (born 2007) began her cello studies in 2012 at the East Helsinki Music School, studying with Csilla Tuhkanen, and from 2014 onwards, with Taru Aarnio. Since the autumn of 2021, Taika has been studying at the Sibelius Academy's Youth Department under Tuomas Ylinen. She started at the Cello Academy in the autumn of 2022.

Leevi Pelli

Leevi Pelli (born 2008) started playing the cello at the age of 5 at the Käpylä Music Institute under the lead of Anja Maja. Later, his teacher at Käpylä was also Tiia Ignatius. Currently, Leevi studies at the Youth School of the Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts, under Joona Pulkkinen. He has been studying at the Cello Academy since 2020. In the 2021 Porvoo Cello Competition, he reached the finals and was awarded the audience's favorite prize. Leevi's music studies have been supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

Saima Malmivaara

Saima Malmivaara (born 2006) started playing the cello at the age of five and has been studying at the Youth Department of the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki since the fall of 2021 under Tuomas Ylinen. In addition, Saima studies at the Cello Academy, where her teachers are Tuomas Lehto and Tuomas Ylinen. Guest teachers at the Cello Academy have included Marko Ylönen, Erkki Rautio, Arto Noras, Sennu Laine, and Torleif Thedéen.

Pietari Huhdanpää

Pietari Huhdanpää (b. 2012) began studying the cello in 2018 at the East Helsinki Music Institute under the guidance of Taru Aarnio. He has participated in masterclasses with Senja Rummukainen and Marko Ylönen. Pietari performed as a soloist with the Helsinki City Orchestra at the Junior Concert in the spring of 2024. In the fall of 2024, Pietari was awarded at the Porvoo Cello Competition. Starting in 2025, Pietari will be a student at the Porvoo Cello Academy. In addition to his music studies, Pietari's favorite hobby is tennis.

Veikko Aarnio

Veikko Aarnio has been playing the cello since he was four years old at the Central Helsinki Music Institute, first under the guidance of Helli Seppä and, since 2018, Markus Hallikainen. The 13-year-old Veikko plays on a French 3/4 cello. He has previously participated in international video competitions such as the Rudolf Barshai and Mark Rothko competitions. Veikko Aarnio has also received instruction from Arto Noraksel, Joona Pulkkinen, and Raphael Wallfish.
